woodland pork

Our pigs are raised in the woods and are supplemented with non-GMO feed from a local feed mill.  Growing pigs in the woods provides them with access to natural forage, nuts, insects, mushrooms and plenty of sunshine. As a result, our pigs meat and fat are healthier and provide a rich source of micronutrients, particularly fat-soluble vitamins E and D.  Pigs are monogastric animals and make vitamin D in their skin and in their fat when they’re exposed to sunlight. We typically raise a number of cross-bred pigs which results in a variety of flavors and great tasting clean pork.

pastured poultry

We seasonally raise pasture poultry using the Salatin method of chicken "tractors" where our birds are moved to a new section of pasture on a daily basis. We raise Freedom Rangers which will grow more slowly than more commercial birds but results in a more flavorful tasting chicken.  We typically start raising pullets in early April and move them outside onto pasture after three weeks of age. Our birds range in finished weight of 3.5 to 5.5 pounds. In addition to fresh pasture on a daily basis, our birds are also provided a special formulated feed which is non-GMO.  We are also excited to be offering a non-GMO, non-soy, non-corn chicken. Pastured raised turkeys can be reserved for the Thanksgiving and Christmas season. We have received great feedback from many of our customers who appreciate the benefits of eating non-GMO poultry.

Our Beltie beef is of high quality. We also cross-bred our Belite bull and a few black angus cows and have been very happy with the results. Our operation is 100% grass-fed cattle.
